Destiny 2 is now free to play on Google Stadia. Google announced today that it has released Destiny 2 for Stadia for everyone to play. This includes both Stadia Pro and the Stadia Free Tier, which means you will likely be playing Destiny 2 now free and clear. As long as you have a mobile device, have an Xbox or PlayStation controller, or have a laptop, you’ll likely be playing Destiny 2 so far, with Stadia.
Google Stadia allows users to stream games from several different platforms, and it offers both Pro (per month) and Standard (which is free). You will be able to join your mobile device – iOS or Android – or through any other device running Stadia.
Ideally, Google might want to buy its own Google Stadia Wireless Controller, and subscribe to Stadia Pro. But to get their position, so to speak, they delivered Destiny 2 for free.
Bungie makes money from Destiny 2 in two ways. One – the initial purchase. Most people bought Destiny 2 at its full original price. The second way for Bungie to profit is through expansions.

For example, “Destiny 2: Beyond Light” just launched. If you want to upgrade with Destiny 2: Beyond Light, you will have to pay for it. Buying Destiny 2: Beyond Light with Google Stadia means you’ll pay approximately $ 40. They also have a “deluxe edition” for around $ 70.
So you can play Destiny 2 now for free, but the deeper you dive in, the more excited you will be for the latest expansion. Destiny 2 is a game that’s going to be around for a long time. The more you devote your life to this game, the more likely you are to go ahead and purchase the expanded items within it.
