Another day, another restocking – and today is a great day for those looking for one of the new consoles from Microsoft and Sony. Walmart confirmed that it will restore storage for both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 today, along with its less expensive alternatives, Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.
Walmart confirmed the edge Today, the Xbox Series X | S returns to stock at 11:30 AM PDT / 2:30 PM EST, while PlayStation 5 consoles will be back in stock half an hour later at 12 PM PDT / 3 PM EST. Walmart’s usual restocking time is 12 PM PST on the days when new stocks are listed, but here the stock will likely be split so that its website doesn’t overwhelm potential Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 buyers at the same time.
In fact, the Walmart website has fallen victim to a flood of users looking to purchase one of these consoles in the past, so perhaps a stock split like this would be a good thing. Of course, it might not guarantee website stability at all, as we would expect a large number of people to chase all 4 of these consoles.
As a reminder, Walmart’s process is generally everyone to themselves, so you’ll want to refresh the page for the console you want to purchase two minutes in advance. These consoles will likely be sold out right away, and with the Walmart website expected to struggle under the burden of people trying to rush out, it will be an achievement to even get a console in your cart and start the checkout process.
Bear in mind that Walmart also has a mobile app, so if you are concerned about website unreliability, it might be worth downloading. Walmart has separate listings for Xbox series xAnd the Xbox SAnd the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, And the PlayStation 5So be sure to choose the right hardware for the controller you want. As always, we’ll let you know when retailers announce future restocking, so keep checking back with SlashGear for more.
