VIZIO updates its TVs with PS5, Xbox Series X and PC features

The PS5 and Xbox Series X are all the rage right now in the gaming world, and VIZIO has just started pushing updates to its TVs which allow it to better support these two devices thanks to some new features.

Starting today, owners of various VIZIO TVs will be able to take advantage of new features that specifically cater to the needs of PS5, Xbox Series X and PC games.

This also allows VIZIO to catch up with some other brands that already have products on the market that support next-generation consoles. However, some of these new features are already a future guide.

VIZIO TVs will better support PS5 with features like 4K 120fps

One of the biggest features of next-generation consoles like the PS5 is support for 120fps, and the new VIZIO TV update enables “4K full bandwidth at 120 fps” according to the company.

But the PS5 doesn’t fully support 120fps yet. So this is one of those features that is a future audit feature. At least as far as the PS5 is concerned. Those with a powerful enough computer can take advantage of it by simply installing the update on their TV.

Provided that the GPU inside their PC is either the NVIDIA RTX 3080 or one of the more powerful NVIDIA cards that allows for high frame rates. And it’s really any modern NVIDIA Class 20 card too.

This particular portion of the update also caters to Xbox Series X owners. Because there are some games for Microsoft’s next generation console that support 4K resolution at 120fps.

The update arrives to the Quantum series OLED models and models

VIZIO is already pushing the update to TV owners. But which one? For starters, there’s a lineup of the brand’s OLED models and 2021 models featured in the Quantum series.

In terms of the Quantum TV series, VIZIO is specifically pushing the update to the 2021 models in P-Quantum X Series And Quantum Lines P Series. The update also includes things like HDMI Forum VRR support. Plus overall smoother frame rates for 1080p and 4K games while auto game mode is enabled at any resolution.

With updates pushed starting today, users should start seeing firmware available. Although there does not seem to be a timeline for when the update will be completed and available to all users.
