Since the OnePlus 8T was launched nearly a month ago, OnePlus has kept pushing new updates for the device. And now, the new OxygenOS update is available directly for the OnePlus 8T.
The update is based on Android 11, which is a pre-installed OS out of the box. OnePlus ditched the Pro variant of the T lineup of devices.
Instead, it was used with the OnePlus 8T. The reason was simple and understandable. And it is that there is not much room and new features that the company can fit into the Pro model.
Basically, the company doesn’t have much to offer the Pro variant. This is why OnePlus took a step back and only released the OnePlus 8T.
Honestly, the device is powerful enough and is a worthy flagship of the company for the price. It comes with all the bells and whistles you would expect from a OnePlus device.
However, the camera’s performance remains a huge talking point. And if they should take my opinion, there is a lot of room for improvement in the camera department.
The OnePlus 8T update arrives as OxygenOS 220.127.116.11 and offers call stability fixes, NFC, and more
Speaking of the latest update for OnePlus 8T, it arrives at OxygenOS 18.104.22.168 and is based on Android 11. There are lots of improvements and bug fixes for call stability, camera, NFC, and more.
As for the camera, the OnePlus 8T OxygenOS update improves the photography effect to offer a better photography experience. Moreover, the stability of the camera has also been improved.
Several users complained about their inability to turn on NFC. Thankfully, OnePlus 8T’s new OxygenOS update headlines this along with some other bugs.
Unfortunately, the security patch level is still stuck in October 2020. This is not something you’d expect from OnePlus. Because OnePlus is known to keep the security patch level of its devices up to date.
We may see another update for the OnePlus 8T in the coming days that will raise the security patch to the latest available update.
It is worth noting that the update is rolling out for OnePlus 8T users in India. Europe and North America. To get the complete changelog, users can head to the official OnePlus Forums page by clicking Here.
The update is coming via OTA and will make its way to all units gradually. If your OnePlus 8T device hasn’t picked up the update yet, you can head over to it Settings >> System >> System updates And let the device search for the latest update.
If a new update is available, tap Download to start downloading and installing the OxygenOS update. Once the update is downloaded and installed, your device will restart.
