Samsung is said to be preparing a new budget smartphone within the Galaxy M series. Recently, the back panel of the rumored Galaxy M12 smartphone was leaked online. thanks for the ONLICKSo, now we have an unofficial first look at the design of Samsung’s upcoming budget Galaxy M12 smartphone.
Unlike the current Galaxy smartphones, this new device will have a square camera module on the back. It looks identical to the recently launched Galaxy A42 5G smartphone but comes with a completely different back panel design. The Galaxy M12 introduces a dual-tone profile on the back.
Here’s our first look at the Galaxy M12’s budget phone
While the upper part has an embossed design, the lower part provides a glossy finish. Up front, it features an Infinity-V display instead of the Infinity-U. Given that it is a budget smartphone, the edges around the screen are a bit thicker than we would like. At the moment, there is no information available on the details of the cameras.
According to the source, Samsung will likely release the Galaxy M12 in early 2021. Both the power button and the volume control button can be seen on the right edge of the device. The fingerprint scanner on this device is also integrated into the power button. Since there is no in-display fingerprint scanner, the device is likely to lose the AMOLED panel.

While the square camera unit on the back features four camera sensors, the LED flash is located directly below it. The 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, and speaker grille are placed on the bottom of the device. It comes in a single-body plastic design that features curved edges and rounded corners.
The Galaxy M12 will measure 163.9 x 75.9 x 8.9mm, 10mm if you measure the thickness at the camera bump. It will come with a 6.5-inch screen which may default to HD + resolution. This new smartphone in the Galaxy M series will be the successor to the Galaxy M11 that was launched earlier this year.
Although the Galaxy M11 is Samsung’s cheapest smartphone with a punch-hole display, it is equipped with a low-power Snapdragon 450 portable platform. With the Galaxy M12, the company may revert to using the in-house Exynos chipset.
Based on previous leaks, the Galaxy M12 may also launch as Galaxy F12 in some markets. As of now, the Galaxy F smartphones are sold exclusively through Indian online retailer Flipkart. The recently launched Galaxy F41 is also a rebranded Galaxy M31 smartphone.
