Sennheiser IE 300 earbuds deliver accurate design and sound

CES 2021 may not be a personal event this year. But that didn’t stop Sennheiser From seizing the opportunity to launch the new IE 300 in-ear headphones. According to Sennheiser product manager Jermo Köhnke, the headphones were “crafted with precision” to allow all the details of the music to shine.

To achieve this, Sennheiser packed its new IE 300 headphones with a 7mm ultra-wideband transducer. Built at the company’s headquarters in Germany, the power adapter takes audio quality to the next level, according to the company. It does this in a number of ways.

Not only does the new arrangement include an “enhanced film chip” to mitigate both normal resonance and total harmonic distortion (THD). Although THD is being At less than 0.08 percent at 1 kHz and 94 dB. The headphones provide above average frequency response as well. The company hasn’t just focused on the average human hearing range – 20Hz to 20kHz – either. The Sennheiser IE 300 features a response from 6Hz to 20kHz.

This means that these earbuds deliver crystal clear sound across the board.

Aside from the audio, what’s so special about the Sennheiser IE 300?

Now, the design language behind the Sennheiser IE 300 will be familiar to those who use wired headphones. Sennheiser designed them with comfort in mind, so the cable features a fairly standard earmuff, earhook pattern, and bud tip. But Sennheiser has never been a content company that matches the competition. So it also ships these headphones with flexible, adjustable ear hooks and with silicone and memory foam ear adapters. Specifically, both styles are in three sizes.

The terminals of the ear adapter ensure support for sound insulation. But with the flexible ear hooks, durability will usually be a concern. This is not the case here at all. In fact, the IE 300 comes with a 3.5mm semi aramid reinforced cable. Sennheiser says it can withstand thousands of bending cycles and is easy to replace. This is because it connects via a gold-plated Fidelity + MMCX connector that is installed into a 4.8mm wide recessed socket.

Additionally, Sennheiser will sell 2.5mm balanced cables and 4.4 connectors as optional accessories.

How much does Sennheiser IE 300 cost and when can you buy it?

Sennheiser IE 300 earphones won’t be the cheapest headphones on the market. The company says it will be priced at $ 299.95 – $ 399.95 CAD at launch. And that the new wearable device will be available from January 19. But the price doesn’t quite meet the features and build quality, putting aside Sennheiser’s reputation for great audio devices. And of course, Sennheiser includes a premium carrying case along with the package.
