According to new information from Max WeinbachSamsung will announce 7 flagships in 2021, three of which will support the S Pen. The guide shared this information on Twitter, and given his proven track record, this information is likely accurate.
Mr. Weinbach has also listed all of these devices for us to see. The upcoming flagships are Galaxy S21 FE, S21, S21 +, S21 Ultra, Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3 and Z Fold FE. Some of you may have noticed a big surprise here.
Samsung announced 7 flagships in 2021, but not a single Galaxy Note phone
You will notice that the Galaxy Note series is completely missing. The Galaxy Note 21 and S21 + were expected to arrive next year, but that won’t happen, it seems. Samsung is rumored to be discontinuing the Galaxy Note series, but not in 2021.
Well, if Max Weinbach is to be believed, that will happen. Three of the devices he mentioned will offer S Pen support, but none will be the Galaxy Note.
Three of these devices will offer S Pen support, two of which are easy to guess
So which of these devices will support the S Pen? Well, judging by several sources, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be the first. It won’t ship with the S Pen.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will also support the S Pen, according to several sources. We are not sure if this device will ship with the S Pen, or if it will be sold separately as the Galaxy S21 Ultra. We have to wait and see.
As for the third smartphone, well, it’s anyone’s guess. It might be the Galaxy Z Fold FE, perhaps. This is supposed to be an affordable foldable smartphone that’s been popular for some time now.
However, given that it will be affordable for everyone, the S Pen support doesn’t make much sense. It doesn’t really make sense for the Galaxy Z Flip 3, as it will be much smaller than the Galaxy Z Fold 3, but among the devices listed, it is likely to offer this support, along with the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Z Fold 3.
The Galaxy Z Fold series appears to completely replace the Galaxy Note series
All in all, this info is really very interesting. The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra could be the latest smartphones from the ‘Note’ series we’ve seen. This is somewhat surprising given the number of “Note” devices that Samsung sells each year. It appears that the “Z Fold” series is set to completely replace the “Note” series.
