Republic Day 2021 Showtimes, Main Guest, Delhi Metro Services: India will celebrate the 72nd Republic Day on January 26th. This day is celebrated to commemorate the date on which India’s constitution was drawn up in the year 1950. On this day, a Republic Day Parade is held to display the military might and rich cultural heritage of the country. Usually, thousands of people and foreign dignitaries are invited to watch the show. However, the number of guests and attendance has been restricted due to the Coronavirus pandemic this time. This year, there will be no major guest or foreign dignitaries on Republic Day. The number of spectators has also been reduced due to virus restrictions.
Republic Day Parade schedule, time for January 26
On Tuesday, the show will begin at 9.50 am from Vijay Chowk and head towards the National Stadium. The paintings will start in Vijay Chowk and head towards the Red Fort. The wreath laying job will take place at the National War Memorial at 9 am. Starting at Vijay Chowk, the show will pass Rajpath, Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate, Princess Palace Roundabout, Tilak Marg and Radial Road. Then it will turn right on the “C” Hexagon, turn left again to enter the National Stadium. Likewise, the paintings will start from Vijay Chowk and travel to Red Fort via Rajpath, India Gate, Princess Palace Roundabout, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Netaji Subhash Marg.
Traffic on Republic Day and restrictions
Traffic will be restricted on some roads leading to the parade lane. No traffic will be allowed in Vijay Chowk from 6 PM Monday until the show ends Tuesday. Delhi Police say that due to the show, no transit traffic will be allowed at Rajpath interchanges from Monday afternoon.
According to the advisory, India Gate will be closed to traffic from 5 am on Tuesday until the paintings cross Tilak Marg. Traffic will not be permitted on Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Subhash Marg from 5 am on Tuesday. Cross passage can be allowed depending on movement of plates. Roads that motorists can take tomorrow are the North-South Corridor that includes the Ring Road, Ashram Chowk, Saray Kali Khan and Rajghat.

Delhi Metro timing on Republic Day
Delhi Metro services will be partially closed tomorrow due to Republic Day security arrangements. Four stations – Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, Patel Chowk and Lok Kalyan Marg – near Rajpath will be closed in the morning. All metro parking spaces will remain closed from Monday evening until Tuesday afternoon. The exchange will be available at the Central Secretariat metro stations. The Central Secretariat station will be used for passenger exchange between Line 2 (yellow line) and Line 6 (purple line) during that period.
