Ex-Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side must be “steadfast” in winning matches in order to win the Premier League and Champions League titles this season.
Berbatov revealed this ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday.
Berbatov told Betfair: “Everyone thought Manchester United would have a hard time against Leipzig, but they did really well.”
“They pressed when they needed to press, attacked the ball well, passed the ball well, and also showed that the goals are there, it’s just a matter of getting them out. It was a great night for the team everywhere.
“ Fatigue and motivation play a part, and it can be difficult to switch back and forth, and much of it is just a coincidence.
“This result at home will do miracles for the confidence of United, because their record on home soil was not great. Not only did they win at home, they also beat Leipzig 5-0!
“This is an amazing result. Hopefully this win will transform their fortunes in the future.
“ Ole deserves credit for a performance like this, it can’t be a situation where players have good results, bad results are the manager, and that doesn’t work.
“I’m not going to jump to the conclusion that United can suddenly win the Premier League or the Champions League, it’s too early, and they need to get that word again, consistent.
