The Guardian reports that the Italian police have identified a suspect. Therefore, it would be a 49-year-old man, who lives in the Tuscany region, west of Umbria.
The identification would have been made thanks to video surveillance images taken in the cathedral and nearby places. Potentially, it wouldn’t be his first feat of arms: the suspect has previously been linked to other thefts of religious objects.
However, the flask lost for the moment. The Italian police believe that it is possible that it was sold to collectors, such a relic has a very important religious value.
