Today we’re taking a peek at the Pokemon GO Charge Up event that started at 10 am this morning and continues until 8 pm. The times for this event are local times, which means they will start and end at those times regardless of the time zone you are currently in. The event is the first date for the release of Pokemon Tynamo, a Pokemon that was not available in Pokemon GO before.
Tynamo itself isn’t particularly amazing. It’s the first from the Pokemon family that includes Elektrik (a terrifying creature that resembles an eel), then Eelektross. If you are looking for that Pokemon assortment, go now! They went out in the wild and in 5-kilometer eggs for the duration of the event.
If you are looking for electrical themed field research and timed research, now is your chance! If you’re the type of electric pokemon raid battle type Party Experience type, it’s time to shine!
The Pokemon GO Charge Up event was announced earlier this month with a guarantee that you’ll see all kinds of electric Pokemon out in the wild. We now know this group includes: Pikachu, Alolan Geodude, Magnemite, Voltorb, Electabuzz, Chichou, Mareep, Electrike, Pusle, and Minun – all of which can be found as SHINY Pokemon. Other Electric Pokemon can be found in the wild without the possibility of flashy iteration, including Blitzle, Joltik, Tynamo, and Stunfisk.
If you hatch a 5-kilometer egg that you find today, you have a chance to acquire a Joltik, Tynamo or Stunfisk without the possibility of getting a glossy version. Pokemon in 5 km eggs discovered today that they can be shiny, including Pichu, Elekid, Electrike and Shinx!
So get out there! This event only lasts until 8 PM (20:00) local time, after which we carry on to the next event! Keep turning around as we capture the details here on SlashGear and through TeamPokemonGO on Twitter.
