Tata will be quarantined at home for the next 14 days.
Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement that Tata met with Lithuanian Defense Minister Raymondas Karoblis last Friday. Since then, Karublis has tested positive for Covid-19 and the Lithuanian embassy notified the Pentagon on Thursday of the infection.
“Mr. Tata was tested today and tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in two consecutive tests. He will be isolated at home for a period of 14 days in accordance with CDC protocols,” Hoffman said.
Carublis also met with several senior Pentagon leaders, including Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller, the Secretary of the Army and the Air Force and the Secretary of the Navy. Hoffman said each of these officials has been tested since their meeting. He did not say how these leaders were tested.
In several of the 2018 tweets, she claimed that former President Barack Obama was a “terrorist leader” who “did more to harm the United States” and help Muslim countries more than any president in history. “
And in the radio and television appearances, Tata also propagated conspiracy theories that a “deep state gang” of officials would rather see President Donald Trump fail than succeed in office.
After withdrawing his candidacy, Tata was appointed “the official who performs the duties of Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy”.
He is widely seen as a Trump loyalist who maintained White House support even as Republicans on the Senate Armed Services Committee indicated that they were not prepared to support his assertion earlier this year.
