Nokia 6.3 / 6.4 surface with large screen and headphone jack

thanks for the Steve HummerstoverSo, we might take a first look at the Nokia 6.3 / 6.4. Unfortunately, the name of the new device has not yet been finalized. The name is still left for Nokia in the end, but Steve thinks this will be the name of the next affordable device.

Nokia recently jumped from X.2 to X.4 for some of its device names so we have to wait for the official one. However, the successor to the Nokia 6.2 will come with a 6.45-inch flat screen. Fortunately, some OEMs stick to flat panels because curved panels are so beautiful, but impractical at times.

The screen will contain a water drop notch. The screen is 164.9 mm high, 76.8 mm wide, and 9.2 mm thick. With the camera bump, it is 10.1mm thick.

This display will be a welcome upgrade to the smaller display that the Nokia 6.2 has. The previous Nokia 6.2 had a 6.3 inch screen. On the back of the device, the Nokia 6.3 / 6.4 will have a quad-camera system that sits in a round housing. Under the cameras there is a dual, elliptical flash that should aid in low-light scenarios.

Nokia 6.3 / 6.4 will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack

Next is the fingerprint sensor. It’s now embedded in the power button on the side of the phone instead of on the back like the Nokia 6.2. This has become a trend recently when it comes to placing the fingerprint sensor somewhere easily accessible. It is cheaper than the sensor at the bottom of the screen and easier to access than the rear sensor.

As was the case with some Nokia devices recently, the new device will include an additional button for Google Assistant. Having a dedicated button to call Google Assistant seems to have become popular lately. The button makes it easy to summon the assistant.

As a final surprise, the new device will have a 3.5mm headphone jack. 3.5mm headphone jacks are still in demand by a lot of people despite the pressure to go wireless. Mid and low end devices tend to offer this desired feature. However, mainstream devices always tend to be abandoned, which is a pity.

Those who would like to get their hands on the Nokia 6.3 / 6.4 should be patient. Steve did not mention a specific date for the release, but indicated that it is expected to be revealed no later than April. Depending on the price, the device could be a strong competitor in the smartphone space with affordable prices.
