Motorola may be the first to bring a Snapdragon 800-powered phone

A recent report from Android Authority It highlights that the Snapdragon 8 series flagship chip is in the works. And guess what? Motorola may be the first to come up with the Snapdragon 800.

If you keep yourself updated, there have been some rumors about Qualcomm working on the Snapdragon 800 processor, but the company has gone ahead and announced the flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset.

However, according to a reliable digital chat station, another Snapdragon 800 chip is already coming. In a post dated Weibo, The digital chat station reported that a “new 8-chain master chip” is underway.

It was further stated that Motorola may have an advantage here. We reported a few days ago that Motorola teased the upcoming Motorola Edge S phone with Snapdragon 8-series SoC.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Motorola Edge S could be the first device to feature this new Snapdragon 800 processor. Since it is too early to release the Snapdragon 888+ processor, a light processor may definitely be in the works.

The lightweight Snapdragon 800 chipset provides room for improved performance

The lite chipset offers several reasons for existence and one of the reasons could be the prices. It can help save a few bucks to fit a mid-range device. Moreover, it provides better GPU and other features compared to the Snapdragon 700 family.

Sure, Motorola will soon launch Motorola Edge S, as the information came directly from Chen Jin, who is the general manager of Lenovo China Mobile phone brand.

In fact, I used Motorola Edge S to send the post on its Weibo account. Although Chen did not reveal much about the device, he only hinted that the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 8 chipset.

Now the latest advice from Digital Chat Station gives us more reasons to believe it’s the Snapdragon 800 chipset that will power the Motorola Edge S.

But as always, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt, as this is not from official sources. Motorola recently announced four devices, which are Motorola One 5G Ace, Moto G Stylus, Moto G Play and Moto G Power.

These devices will be launched on January 14th. Besides, it will be available at different price points. Motorola Nio, Motorola Capri, and Capri Plus are also some of the devices that have popped up online.

As far as Motorola Edge S is concerned, there is no information on the device’s launch date. But if Motorola really becomes the first to bring a Snapdragon 800-powered device, it should definitely give them the coverage they deserve.
