Manila: Moderna said on Saturday that it has agreed to supply the Philippine government with 13 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, with deliveries to begin in mid-2021.

The company said in a press release that the company will work with the organizers to obtain the necessary approvals prior to distribution.

Moderna said it expects to reach a separate agreement with the Philippine government and the private sector to provide an additional seven million doses.

In January, the Philippine Food and Drug Administration approved a Covid-19 vaccine by Pfizer Inc and BioNTech SE for emergency use.
