Throughout the Xbox One generation, Microsoft has been releasing new consoles regularly, and it looks like the company has plans to do the same for the Xbox Series X generation. After introducing Shock Red and Pulse Blue controllers, Microsoft today revealed Electric Volt and Daystrike Camo controllers. It’s safe to say that both consoles have eye-catching designs.
This is especially true for the Volt electrical control unit. Just as you’d expect, the Volt electric controller is in bright yellow, a color we rarely see on gaming consoles. In fact, Microsoft says this is the first time it has used yellow resin in making its consoles, so if you want a gamepad that is easy to see and hard to lose, it might be a good idea to choose this.
Then we have Daystrike Camo, which follows the Night Ops Camo and Arctic Camo consoles released for the Xbox One. This is the first Camo console Microsoft launches for the Xbox Series X, but we imagine a lot will follow considering the Camo is an option that you can add to custom consoles through Xbox Design Labs.
In addition to these two controllers, Microsoft is also taking Electric Volt and Daystrike Camo colors and applying them to clothing for the first release in the Xbox Icon Collection. The Xbox Icon Collection will feature limited-time outfits with many Xbox logos and icons in these two colors, and you can see some of the items shown in the image below.
We don’t have pricing information for this Xbox Icon Collection outfit yet, but Microsoft has confirmed that it will go on sale in the Xbox Gear Shop on April 21st. Meanwhile, we can expect the Volt electric controller to launch on April 27th for $ 64.99, while the Daystrike Camo console will launch on May 4th for $ 69.99.
