Manchester United football club said on Friday that the Manchester United red jerseys that have worn the Chevrolet brand for the past seven years will be sponsored by German software company TeamViewer as a new sponsor from next season.

The 20-time Premier League champion, who is currently second in the Premier League table, has not disclosed the financial details of the deal.

The club last year extended its record $ 559 million deal with General Motors that was due to expire in June 2021 by six months after the initial shutdown of Covid-19 in its finances.

“TeamViewer will enable Manchester United to bring its fans closer to the team they love through pioneering AR solutions and remote access to the theater of dreams,” United said in a statement.

The sponsorship with United represents another deal for German company TeamViewer, which recently bought American augmented reality software company Upskill.

The Frankfurt-listed company said in a separate statement: “The TeamViewer brand logo will appear on the front of the club’s most popular and best-selling shirt, for both the men’s and women’s teams.”

TeamViewer added that due to the increase in marketing spending as a result of the deal, it lowered its base profit margin forecast for the year, driving shares down 11%.
