Counting the ballots for the US presidential elections in the state of Georgia confirmed Joe Biden’s winlocal authorities announced on Thursday, November 20.
The initial count only gave the Democratic candidate about 14,000 votes ahead of rival Donald Trump, in a state that traditionally votes Republican. The gap was so narrow that a manual count was carried out. After the count, this gap has narrowed slightly with now just over 12,200 votes ahead for Joe Biden.
The difference between the two candidates is still very small. Outgoing President Donald Trump, who is challenging his defeat, may therefore request a new countsaid a statement from the Georgia Secretary of State office, charged with organizing the elections.
