Gasoline and diesel prices across the country remained unchanged on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Prices were raised by 25 baisas per liter per liter across the country on Wednesday and by 35 baisas per liter every Tuesday.
Gasoline in Delhi is currently Rs 86.30 per liter while diesel price is Rs 76.48. In Mumbai, petrol is priced at 92.86 while diesel is retailing at Rs 83.30.
Fuel prices, which vary from state to state depending on local sales tax or value-added tax, are currently at record high levels in the country.
State-owned retail fuel companies – the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) – on January 6 resumed their daily price review after a nearly month-long hiatus. Since then, prices have increased by 2.59 rupees per liter on petrol and 2.61 rupees in the case of diesel.
Gasoline and diesel prices are reviewed on a daily basis in line with international standard prices and foreign exchange rates.
