After nearly decades of waiting, Final Fantasy fans finally got the 3D edition they were clamoring for. However, it is being delivered in phases and the next meal is still nowhere visible. Meanwhile, Square Enix and Sony are milking the title while it’s still fresh and giving it a special spin-off exclusive to PlayStation 5. About a month after its initial announcement, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade gets another teaser, a clip that pits the PS5 copy against the PS4.
It is already accepted that the PS5 version will have improved graphics compared to a version that works on older PS4 consoles. Another thing to see the differences side-by-side, however, the new trailer demonstrates the new lighting, texture and fog effects offered by the latest generation console. There are also some new modes that will allow players to choose whether to prioritize graphics or performance.
In addition to simple visual upgrades, FFVII Remake Intergrade also adds new capabilities, such as faster download times thanks to better hardware. The PS5 version will also have a “normal (classic)” difficulty that brings it closer to the feel of the original game. Finally, the trailer also features a new Photo Mode that lets you capture specific moments from a different angle, literally.
Last but not least, Yuffie’s new chapter is showcased in all of its refreshed glory. Ironically, Ninja Fun is perhaps one of the biggest reasons fans want the PS5 release even if they don’t care much about the visual upgrades.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade coming on June 10 and it’s a free upgrade for those who already own the PS4 version of the game. However, it will cost you Yuffie as it has to be purchased separately for those who go this route.
