Blizzard has announced that Diablo II: Resurrected will be available to play in a limited Alpha experience this weekend. This means that you will likely not be able to retain what you find, and your characters may never see the light of day after the said alpha is completed. But you’ll play … if you’re lucky enough to be invited to play. If not, there is always YouTube and Twitch to watch streamers that spoke about an opportunity.
Ditch your homework and quit your day job, Diablo 2 is about to return to steal your entire waking life. Diablo II: Resurrected looks similar to Diablo II in most respects – save improved graphics and updates to the game’s gameplay.
According to Blizzard Entertainment representatives presenting this revamped game, Alpha is a test of a few key points. “We want to know if we are sticking to design originality through our new visuals and quality-of-life changes.”
This new version of the game will work on 4K Ultra HD (2160p) graphics on both PCs and consoles. This is if the user has the necessary hardware to deliver the said software experience.
The first alpha will include both the acts of the first and second apostles. This means that we are in the woods, in the monastery of Rog, ready to conquer Andariel. We are also in the desert, in Lotte Gulen, ready to encounter beetles in abundance. Users will be able to choose from three of the original heroes: Amazon, Barbarian, or Witch. We’ll see the rest when the full game launches – and maybe in beta sooner.
Alpha goes on Friday, April 9 starting at 7 AM (Pacific Time) and is phased out throughout the day. It will run through Monday, April 12, 10 AM PDT. You will find YouTube Gaming And Twitch Congestion filled with Diablo II Resurrected starting early – Thursday, 8th, starting at 10 AM PDT.
