Diablo 2: Retrieved PC requirements shouldn’t shock you (yet)

PC requirements for Diablo 2: Resurrected aren’t particularly brutal. If you run Diablo 2 on your PC now, you should probably be able to run Diablo 2: Resurrected with little change or upgrade. This is, of course, for the simplest, low-resolution version of the game, but still – not a wild thing!

Blizzard revealed PC specification requirements for fans this week as they confirmed several doubts these players had about the original version. We discovered that the new game wouldn’t simply replace the old one. We discovered that the new game will have its own new servers, so players who play the original game will not be excluded from their game when the new game is released.

Minimum specification requirements (720p):
Operating System – Windows 10
Processor: Intel Core i3-3250 / AMD FX-4350
Graphics (GPU): NVIDIA GTX 660 / AMD Radeon HD 7850
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Storage: 30 GB
Internet: A broadband Internet connection
Resolution: 1280 x 720

Minimum specification requirements (1080p):
Operating System – Windows 10
Processor: Intel Core i5-9600k / AMD Ryzen 5 2600
Graphics (GPU): NVIDIA GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Storage: 30 GB
Internet: A broadband Internet connection
Resolution: 1920 x 1080

If we were to wait after the suggested timeframe for the release of this game, as per Battle.Net pre-order, it would be a shock. The game is basically the same as the original game with greatly improved graphics – the launch certainly wouldn’t be too cumbersome for Blizzard’s developer crews. Blizzard has suggested Diablo II: Resurrected be released “on or before December 2021”.

Also note: You will need an internet connection (as mentioned above), but you will also need the official Blizzard Battle.net desktop app to download this game, even if you have purchased any kind of physical version. You will also need a Blizzard registration to play.

Now, if we find out that the game can be played with a much larger screen with many, many pixels and magically improved graphics with the latest in new GPUs, then, we will be shocked. It’s going to be a real trick to make this old (and classic and still playable) game look new – we’ll see!
