Coronavirus positive rate exceeds 2% in New York, Governor. Como announced Saturday.
Of the 163,291 tests reported on Friday, 3,587, or 2.2 percent, were positive. The positivity rate in the state’s micro-mass hotspots, which includes parts of Brooklyn and Queens, was 4.2 percent.
The governor said the number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19 reached 1,381 and 18 people died on Friday.
The positivity rate in New York City was 1.8 percent, and Staten Island showed the highest positive rate at 3 percent.
