For the first time since closing in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ontario casinos are preparing to reopen, and these casinos will be required to adhere to government occupancy rules. This means that no more than 50 beneficiaries will be allowed within the facility at one time. People planning to attend a county casino will need to approach adventure in the same way as they book a hotel stay or a modern restaurant dinner spot.

They will be required to make reservations in advance of their planned visit to the games hall. Table games are also expected to remain a ban on bookmakers. Slot machines will only open for work and not all will be operational. “Some slot machines will be malfunctioning as the physical spacing of two meters is impractical,” Great Canadian Gaming said in a media release. “Plexiglass barriers will be installed between some slot machines as an additional form of protection as the physical spacing of two meters would be impractical.”

Hand sanitizers and wiping stations will be readily available on the casino grounds. “We are particularly pleased that these limited reopens allow us to recall some of our team members, so they can get back to work,” Great Canadian Gaming said in a statement. Great Canadian Gaming owns 11 of the 27 casinos located in Ontario.

Fallsview Casino has not decided a target date for reopening at this point.

Rama Casino

Celebrating 20 years of success, Casino Rama Resort is a full-fledged entertainment destination and the only First Nations Resort casino in Ontario, located in Rama First Nation.

As with Fallsview Casino, Casino Rama has yet to set a date for its reopening.
