Thomas Partey will not be participating in international duty this week, after suffering a thigh injury during Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday.
A portion that has been called up for the upcoming Ghana matches will remain in London instead.
The midfielder who signed for £ 45m last month failed to appear in the second half of the match after Villa.
Barty is seen gripping his leg at the end of the first half and is later seen with ice on his thigh.
The 27-year-old was preparing to join the national team in Ghana’s 2022 African Nations Cup qualifying matches with Sudan on Thursday and Tuesday.
UK Mirror reports that early assessments of Barty’s injury are more serious than Arteta had hoped and faces a race to be fit for the trip to Leeds United next Sunday.
